Last week, Team Women had a booth at the Governor’s Conference for the second year in a row.  We routinely do booths at events highly attended by women to increase awareness of Team Women and grow all of your individual chapters.  This event sold out within three hours of the tickets becoming available and 11,000 were attending.

When we have a Team Women Booth, we ask local members in the target area to staff the booth with us to promote Team Women and their own business.  This year we had 3 members from our San Fernando Valley-West Chapter, one from our Fountain Valley Chapter and a fourth from our Irvine Chapter.

This year they added an extra night to give attendees more time to visit all of the exhibitors and spend time networking.   Because parking was a real issue, the Long Beach Convention Center provided off site parking and trams to take people back and forth to the event.

Stacey Parzik, Founding President of TW SFV-West worked the booth on Friday night and at the end of the evening was taking the tram back to her car.  She noticed the two women sitting across from her in the tram were looking at her necklace and speaking quietly to each other.  We got the following email from Stacey the next morning!

“You know the Cookie Lee necklace I was wearing yesterday?  Well I have had it maybe 7 years or so and yesterday was the 1st time in ages I had worn it!  Ended up sitting right across the aisle from Cookie Lee herself on the shuttle bus back to the parking lot after the Women’s conference last night…she recognized the piece, and said to her friend, “I told you that woman had on vintage Cookie Lee”  too funny huh? (She thought Team Women sounded great btw) She was a really lovely woman, and I gave my card to her CEO whose baby is turning 1 on 11/2 :)  Ended up being a good networking necklace!”

Once again, this shows how we are always networking and be open to the possibilities it can provide for us and our Team Members in our Businesses!

Lahaina Yacht Club

Last night I had the honor to attend the first Team Women Maui Social and it was an amazing experience. With the fabulous location (Lahaina Yacht Club on the water,) the delicious food (macadamia crusted brie with drizzled chocolate, just to give you an example,) spectacular sunset over Lanai: the women and the stories they shared were an affirmation of why I love Team Women so much.

Team Women meetings are very structured with a specific agenda followed to ensure the focus is on business and everything gets done and it works! A social is an opportunity to deepen the connection you have with your Team members by learning more about them personally.

Each woman shared what had brought her to Maui and why each of them opened their particular business. The proof of the law of attraction and why each of them had come together in this chapter was very evident. There were five members from the east coast and three of them from New York; remember this was on Maui. Four of them had nursing backgrounds several had worked as bartenders at one time. And on and on the similarities went. It was a very powerful sharing and as the social was winding down, no one wanted to leave! I could feel the enhanced purpose and renewed commitment each had for supporting the others in growing their businesses!

Aloha Team Women Maui and I am honored to have shared my time her with each of you!

Aloha nui loa!!!!
